Smithfield Foods, is a major hog producing
company. Their Computerized Maintenance
Management System (CMMS) was not integrated
with their financial applications. This
required duplicate entry of purchase requests,
purchase orders, and receipts. It also made
it difficult to drill down from the financials
to the detailed underlying data to identify
the causes of the financial results.
