e.ssential Components: Access Manager, Content Manager and Format Manager.

The Access Manager allows you to define what content each user (or group of users) can access with built-in sign-on, authorization and security features. e.ssential can also provide a gateway for users to access other applications (such as ERP packages, Domino, Outlook, etc.)

The Content Manager makes it easy for business users to create, publish and maintain web content. e.ssential manages IBM eServer iSeries reports, Microsoft objects, Adobe, HTML and other web formats.

The Format Manager provides a means of establishing and updating the overall look and feel of the site and allows each user to customize an individualized view of the web site.

Access Manager

User Passwords and Registration
e.ssential provides log in ID management. Users can only see and access functions to which they have been granted access rights.

Groups
Access rights can also be granted to groups. Users inherit all rights granted to groups of which they are members.

Security
e.ssential leverages all the IBM eServer iSeries (AS/400) security features including Secure Sockets Layer, Firewalls, and Protocol Conversion.

iSeries Log-ons
Users log on to e.ssential and e.ssential logs on to the iSeries. Many actual users can thus be served via only a few logical iSeries interactive users, while maintaining iSeries security.

Access to Applications
e.ssential provides a gateway to other applications, such as ERP packages and Domino. e.ssential simplifies user access by storing user controls and identification for these applications, eliminating separate log-ins. Users can be restricted to accessing only specific data (such as customer #) based on this stored information.

Content Manager

Deliver Existing Content
e.ssential assimilates information from existing Web sites and corporate databases to unlock and present information in a controlled fashion. All Web content is controlled by a table, reducing the need for experience in special Web tools to manage the site.

Upload Content

e.ssential allows authorized individuals to upload documents and publish them to the site for general access or access limited to specific groups. Content is stamped with a user-selected expiration date, after which the content will not appear.

Web Reporting

e.ssential provides users with secured access to iSeries (AS/400) reports directly from a browser. Reports can be printed to a local printer or e-mailed as an attachment.

FAQ System
Users can find answers to frequently asked questions by searching e.ssential’s FAQ repository. Users can enter new queries and receive e-mail confirmation at every level of issue resolution.

Format Manager

Graphics and Image Options

The overall look and feel of the site is established on a global basis to facilitate changes. Individual users or groups of users have different parameters, allowing customers to see their own unique logo, color scheme and corporate metaphor.
